Our self-development workshops provide you with practical knowledge, confidence and coping mechanisms to help you move forward.

Workshops are a combination of teaching, group exercises and (lots of) open discussion. The workshops are held in a safe, supportive environment, and you take part in discussions when you are ready.

Delivered by an experienced counsellor/group worker, who is a domestic abuse specialist, workshops are four hours long. We run them weekly during school hours in term-time, in west London (Edgware Road) and east London (Stratford).

Examples of previous workshop titles include:

  • What is domestic violence and abuse and what are its effects?
  • Effects of domestic abuse on children
  • Coping with depression and suicidal feelings
  • Healthy vs unhealthy relationships
  • Looking to the future – confidence building and voluntary work

The programme is designed as a series of workshops. We recommend that you attend all six to get the maximum benefit.

“I immediately felt safe in the workshops. No one was judging anyone else, and our workshop leader was so caring and supportive. Being with those women taught me that I was not alone: we had each other.”
