Why we need your help

Few people make the connection between domestic abuse and the impact it has on mental health and emotional wellbeing. We do what we can, but we rely on donations and grants to support our work with vulnerable women.

Last year, around £60,000 of our total income came from individual donations. That’s the equivalent of providing 912 counselling sessions, or 93 workshops or support groups. Or, put another way, because of donations from people like you, we were able to help empower at lease 83 women.

We appreciate all the help we can get, whether it’s a one-off donation or a regular donation – it all goes back into supporting more women to rebuild their lives.

How you can help

You can follow us on Facebook and share our posts, to raise awareness of our work. It might even help someone you know to seek help if they are in an abusive relationship.

You can donate directly through our Facebook page, or by posting a status message and tagging it as ‘support a charity’, so other people can donate, too. You might have seen people do this on special occasions like birthdays, instead of receiving gifts, or in memory of a loved one.

Another, and equally important side of fundraising, is that you will be helping to break the taboo that still exists when it comes to talking about domestic violence and domestic abuse. With your support, we can also help more people to make the connection between domestic abuse and mental health.
