The Royal Parks foundation half marathon is quickly becoming London’s most loved running event of the year among novices and seasoned runners!

1. You’ll not only feel good, you’ll be doing good too

By signing up in support of Woman’s Trust, your sponsorship money will allow us to continue providing free therapeutic services to women that have been affected by domestic abuse. We are still one of the few organisations helping women to understand how domestic abuse affects their mental health and emotional wellbeing, and since our work began in 1996, we have helped over 15,000 women. We provide a confidential, non-judgemental environment where survivors discuss their experiences and express their feelings with specially trained therapists helping women to recover from their experiences – but this work cannot continue without your support.

2. Enjoy the stunning London route

The Royal Parks Run features some of the most beautiful scenery London has to offer. The route will take you through London’s beautiful royal parks and past world famous landmarks including the London Eye, Buckingham Palace and Big Ben! You get the best of both worlds, it’s a great way of seeing London’s landmarks without the usual crowds of tourists!

3. When you finish, you’ll feel amazing!

Running has great health benefits for both body and mind. Not only does it strengthen your joints, improve your cardiovascular system, and gets the blood coursing through your veins, but running has been proven to actually reduce your stress levels and improve your mood!

4. It ends in a big celebration!

The event doesn’t end at the finish line! With a range of hot food, drinks and sampling stalls, the Food Market is a delightful place to spend a couple of hours replenishing your energy (calories don’t count after a half

5. It’s green!

Every effort has been put in to ensure the run is entirely eco-friendly. The t-shirts provided are made from recycled polyester and sustainably sourced bamboo. All food left over from the festival market is collected and donated to those in need, and the completion medals are made from FSC-certified European wood.

6. The bragging rights!

Completing a half-marathon is an incredible fitness marker!  For a novice, it’s an amazing goal to work towards, and is more than manageable if you start training early, and really set your mind to it! For more seasoned runners, its the perfect opportunity to challenge your personal best!
